Al-Khair al-Kathir: Chapter Eight

baqi-al-mubarak

Salam.  Alhumdulillah we have come to the end of the presentation of the 40 hadith on the virtue of salawat.  Please note that this is a rough draft, in the earlier chapters the detailed referencing of the narrations was provided, and was omitted for the later ones, Inshallah if the publishing of this is ever facilitated in the future we hope to add the referencing for all of the narrations.  We pray that we can now make some progress with our next project, namely the manual of salawat from al-Ahsa which is based on hadith and the Dalail al-Khayrat.  Wassalam

Chapter Eight: On Sending Peace Upon Our Master The Messenger of Allah (Allah Bless Him And Give Him Peace)

Hadith Thirty Six: From Abu Hurayrah (Allah be pleased with him) that he said:  The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:  “There is no muslim who sends peace upon me in the east of the west except that I and my Lord’s angels reply to him.  Someone said to him:  O Messenger of Allah, what about the people of Madinah?  He said:  What is said regarding a noble/generous person (karim) amongst his neighbours, is that which Allah has ordered regarding the protection of the neighbours.”

Reported by Abu Nuaym from al-Tabarani

Hadith Thirty Seven: From Abdullah bin Masud (Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) that he said:  “Indeed Allah has angels which travel around conveying to me the peace sent by my community.”

Reported by al-Nasai with his chain.

And in a wording: “Indeed Allah has angels which travel around on earth, conveying to me the peace sent by my community.”

Hadith Thirty Eight:
From Abu Qirsafah Jandarah Ibn Khayshanah (Allah be pleased with him) that he said:  “I heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) say:  He who comes to his bed (to sleep) and recites Surah Tabarak al-Mulk, and then says four times:  O Allah Lord of the Hill and the Haram, and the Balad al-Haram, the Rukn and the Maqam, and the Mashar al-Haram, convey to the soul of Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) from a greeting and peace. Allah (عز و جل) assigns it to two angels until they come to Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) and both say to him:  O Muhammad so and so -son of – so and so sends peace and the mercy of Allah upon you.  And he says:  And upon so and so -son of- so and so be peace and the mercy of Allah from me.”

Reported by al-Hafidh Diya al-Din.

Hadith Thirty Nine: From Anas (Allah be pleased with him) that:  “The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:  If you send blessings upon the Messengers, then send blessings upon me along with them, for I am a Messenger from amongst the Messengers.”

Reported by Ibn Abi Asim with a Sahih chain.

And in a wording:  “If you send peace upon me then send peace on the Messengers”, and the narrators of its chain are relied upon in the two Sahih’s.

Hadith Forty: From Abu Hurayrah (Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:  “No one sends peace upon me except that Allah has returned my soul to me so that I may reply to his greeting.”

Reported by Abu Dawud, Allah have mercy on him and them all, by His Blessing and Generosity. Ameen.
