Salam, took the following a few months back during a “pit stop” tour of the holy cities of Makka and Madina, from the coast of the Eastern Province it takes up to 14 hours to get to Makka (maybe more sometimes!) Anyway after being cramped in a chair for so long its a relief to step out of the bus and have the Kaaba infront of you! A good description of the bus journey would be “back and knee breaking”.
